So, ive been a customer with virgin media since the ye olde days of blueyonder. And yes, there have been some niggles over the years.

I recently upgraded to a 50mb connection a month or 2 ago, and im very happy with the outcome, i can pretty much max my downstream any time of the day, the connection is stable. The only issues if had is with my router that runs ddwrt, and thats purely my own fault with messing with it.

I know virgin media has its faults, but ive had no issues

Im in the birmingham region if anyone is wondering.

I admit nothing and you can't prove anything!

To be honest i must agree, apart from a few disconnects at the start i have been happy with my 50Mb product too. It is a shame the upload is so poor though. Here is to hoping they will upgrade that on the packages soon.

The 50Mb as it is works brillaint, some people will have issue in a high populated area, but these do get sorted.

Depends where you are. In my area it's not the greatest and due to sub-standard HFC network no upgrade in sight until next financial year.

Generally yes it's fine but there are exceptions and no need to be in a highly populated area, being in one of the areas Telewest tossed off for someone else to fix is quite enough.

It was a glitch as I'm only on 20mb/s :)

I have to give VM full credit on this one..... I may have a very slow VM HD box and a dodgy telephone line at times but the broadband is A+

Ive had the 50mb since it first appeared last year.... in that time ive had to restart my modem once and its provided me with 51.5mb all day and nite :)

I've had the 50mb service early April and I always get the full speed

quite satisfying to watch files download at 6.6mb a second

Yeah, somehow I wouldn't believe everything you read on speedtest.net

Although I must say, I've been very very pleased with the service.

I'm reserving my judgement on 50Mbit as I'm in the same former telewest area as Ignitionnet. I got 50Mbit in February and achieved full speed but I've just had my first serious problem with speed (dropped down to 2-15Mbit) which after a week is still ongoing.

Before 50Mbit I must say it felt like reliability was going down anyway with times where the internet just cut out altogether. Unfortunately I didn't keep a record so I can't say for sure exactly how many problems I've had.

I'm now keeping a log so I can confirm my reliability issues if the need arises later down the line ;).
