anyone else having problems getting onto Imagebam.com
Ive reported it on VM forum and so far no come back...
When i try it times out yet friends on other ISPs can.
Mate in Essex on 02 can get on no problems, mate in Matlock on AOL can get on with no problems and so can my sister on Sky.

down for me as well as uploading.com. tracert stops at exactly the same point as well :/
works fine here, but imgur.com is a lot better ;)

It could of course be a matter of the server being down and not a VM problem.

Don't forget the site you mention is an advert for their services and may not be 100% truthful.

like i said mates on AOL, 02 and sister on sky can access perfectly.

I have just spoken to a gentleman at 50mb support called Chris and he has been in contact with another department which stated that an IWF filter has been put on the site after finding indecient images of children in the 18+ section and a moderator should be in place to monitor this which i completely agree with if these images are actually there.

You can tell that from the traceroute per various comments on your other earlier threads about things getting blocked. Your traceroute goes to Knowsley data centre and through this:
7 14 ms 15 ms 14 ms wb7301a.network.virginmedia.net [62.30.0.204]
Which is the IWF proxy.
Think I, amongst others, mentioned this previously in your posts about various file hosting sites.
I have just spoken to a gentleman at 50mb support called Chris and he has been in contact with another department which stated that an IWF filter has been put on the site after finding indecient images of children in the 18+ section and a moderator should be in place to monitor this which i completely agree with if these images are actually there.
So we lose access to the entire site because of a few unsavory images? What a load of *******s that is. I use image and photo forums that are totally imagebam based!

just because it goes through the IWF proxy doesnt mean the whole site gets blocked... Rapidshare goes through the proxy yet i can still access that.

im just going by what they told me earlier on the phone at 50mb support.
he put me on hold so he could ring another department and came back to me saying that "indecient images of children in different states of undress were found in the 18+ folder, they dont mind adult images but not images of this type and an IWF block has been put on it for this reason" he then asked if i could message the Imagebam admin that posted on their forum to tell them this and explain that admins should be on their site trying to block these pictures.
I can get to imagebam using a proxy but it's such a pain in the arse to do it. Others with non Virgin ISPs have been having server problems on Imagebam for a few days so I guess all we can do is wait and see.

Didn't say it did just pointed out how to tell that a site was being proxied through VM's IWF filter.
Am quite familiar with how the Cleanfeed / IWF stuff works.
EDIT: Or doesn't work as in this case.

i think the FBI have better things to do than figure out what perv uploaded those pics theres proberbly other organisations in the states that deal with that + this has been posted on the Virgin Forums by an Image Bam Mod after posting there what Virgin Support told me....
"Thank you, that is more information that I could get. ImageBam is one of the largest free image hosting providers on the internet. It simply is not possible to monitor every single image. We try our best and are in good contact with Interpol and the NCEMC. I rather don't understand why the IWF would not try to contact us so we actually know about the images and can remove them!

I will try to get in touch with the IWFHe'd have more chance getting call-me-dave on the phone. The IWF are secretive and sfaik not answerable to anyone. The filters set up to enforce their blocking orders are often poor - when I was on UKO the whole of Rapidshare including the front page was often blocked because of their faulty filtering. As a simple proxy defeats the filters I really can't see why they are there.

More to avoid people accidentally stumbling into the content than people actively looking for it.
The IWF filtering itself is fine by the way, doesn't mean it's always implemented flawlessly.
