Hi,

I've just got the above router from virgin media and I'd like to install DD-WRT on it but the D4 Rev isn't listed on DD-WRT.

Is any one running it with the same revision?

I've read about people using DD-WRT on the DIR-615 D4 and the build we now have officially for the D2 was originally based on the build for the DIR-600. If you look in the router database the file is labelled as dir-615d and is not revision number specific anymore. Being as the D4 ships with the same stock firmware as the D2, v1.00VG, I would say the latest version of DD-WRT is also fine to use on the D4. Obviously you install it at your own risk though.

Any particular reason you wish to flash the firmware?

I bricked a motherboard a few years ago, too much tinkering. If it works, leave it, is my motto.

Because I used to have a WRT54G running tomato and I like the ability to see bandwidth graphic etc.

Done as you said and it worked fine.

The latest build, 14537, fixed this for me on my D2. BrainSlayer finally sorted out the orange front lights and red side light, so now all my front ones are green and the side light is off without having to run any scripts.

I'll update to that soon I think

Latest version 14594 working fine, no red or yellow lights. Located at http://dd-wrt.com/routerdb/de/download/D-Link/DIR-615/D2/dir615d-revb-ddwrt-webflash.bin/3430 .

I have a D4 version router and I was told that D2 was the compatible version to use.

I have a D2 and its working brilliantly. The netgear usb adapter VM supplied with the router only ever worked at wireless g (54mbps) speed until I used dd-wrt and now works at around 270 mbps. I havent experienced any noticeable dropouts either.

BrainSlayer is churning these builds out at the moment, but 14311 still remains as DD-WRT's recommended build for the D2 revision.

the download page recommends some old 13xxx build :)

I think all of 14xxx is considered beta :) but I am using 14xxx as 13xxx was based on the dir-600 not 615.

Did you managed to find it? I still can't and got the red light on the side of my D2 router and running 14311. The Internet works fine though.

I have a D2 and reflashed to build 14594. Have run it for the last 48 hours, no problems experienced either via LAN or wireless. All lights showing the correct colours. Wireless N throughput is better in my views than some earlier builds. And no having to click on links more than once, although I've never suffered from that.

Instead of three threads about this, lets just use the this one.
