50 meg speeds over wifi

hi all

I have the 50 meg service. On my main PC I get 6000K download speed. I have a pc downstairs on wifi and I get 2100K max, no matter if the main PC is downloading or not. The card in the PC is a 802.11b/g PCI card
.
My question is would I see a speed increase on the downstairs PC if I got a 'N' dongle wifi card?

The wireless router is N series.

You would see an increase but don't expect 50Mb over a wireless connection. I would guess you would see about 35-40Mb.

40-50 is quite doable if the connection is good, I saw very little difference wired and wireless.

Didn't say it wasn't doable Igni, just averaging out, and giving a realistic expectation. Anything better is a bonus don't you think.

Bottom line- it is still worth upgrading from wireless g
