Im constantly getting capped for downloading too much, but i didn't realise the cap for 20MB users was only between 4pm and 9pm. As i have been capped, how long does the cap last for? Does my cap come off at 9pm or do i have to wait a few hours?

Thanks in advance

You will have your speeds reduced for 5 hours from the time you go over the limit.

In theory you could go over your limit at 8:59pm and lose your speed until 1:59am.

Full details of all the Thresholds for each BB tier, the times they come into force and the duration of the throttling can be found here. (http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/internet/traffic.html)

Also note that your downloading is restricted from 10am to 3pm and 4pm to 9pm with an additional restriction on your uploading from 3pm to 8pm.

Thanks for that joglynne.

Looks like ill have to upgrade to 50MB sooner rather than later then. :)

If you stay outside the specified times especially doing any downloading after 9pm you should have no issues with traffic management, that is exactly what I do and it works without having to upgrade to 50Mb.;)

If your downloading that much you should see the benefit of 50meg, Its around £9 a month more. I tend do as masque does and download overnight
