I am ever so sick of there ADSL package,
today i was downloading a pc demo which was 1.7GB
and got to 1.5GB then i was capped to 2 Megabits from 8 Megabits
which is crap cus my download of the first 1.5GB then went corrupt from the
sudden speed drop and now from only 5 minutes, i've got to wait 8 hours...

This always happens, because most my downloads are around 1 - 2 Gig
and only once a day, it's not fair for a ADSL user to have a 75% Cap placed on them... Cable being capped ain't so bad from 20 Megabits to 5 Megabits as you can still get reasonable speed...

>> They should not be capping users of such poor speed's anyway
>> I can understand capping Fibre-Optic users but increase the limit for ADSL
and prevent it from dropping suddenly as it causes corruptions as my download
manager now says the downloads complete when it isn't and won't resume...

Virgin ADSL isn't the worst rated ADSL service in the UK for nothing.

Why is it any different? In both cases the user is getting 25% of the speed he or she is paying for.

As for the downloads being corrupted, well, TBH, I'd look at getting another download manager. Any download manager should be able to cope with sudden speed changes without corrupting the files.

It's also worth noting that there are better ADSL services out there, and if you are not in contract, you should be free the change to them.
