Hi i have just ordered V+HD with an additional standard box upstairs and want to run the cables in myself as im a qualified electrician. Just wanted to know whether its a different cable for HD or is it a standard single core co-axle cable?

RG6 or RG59 mate will do, make sure its good quality. No difference between the cables :)

You will be making an engineers day.

can you run the box upstairs from the box downstairs or do you have to run them both from the connection that comes from the house

You can split the connection downstairs to feed the box upstairs

Technically it is best practice to run from the box outside to every point. However as per previous post, if this is not practical then you can run from your existing point.

If you can run from the box outside. Just leave some slack at each end so the tech has plenty to work with. Also when drilling into the room the wire wants to come in about 25cm above the skirting board to allow for the isolator housing.
