Downstream too high, upstream all over the place, the moral of the story is pay nothing for the install, get an install worth nothing :p:

Be interesting to see how this gets fixed actually. I would speculate it's an issue on the network, probably at the hubsite you connect to, so will need referring to the network guys. Should never have been left in that state after install.

That's just being bitchy Igni,:D:D:D

However I'll take on board the rest of your reply and will post the outcome after tech visit.

Good man, hope it gets resolved.

Unfortunately NO!

I didn't realise until today that VM employ Numpties as tech services, or at least the one who visited me.

He said he'd changed the cable outside onto another tap-OK

He then proceeded to do 3 consecutive speed tests from BBMax and when the rsults were in the 30's said BBMax does not support 50Mb service-????????????????

Next 3 tests from speedtest.net returned 40-50 Mb-OK

Next I pionted out that the problem was intermittent and showed him the modem stats. He did not have a clue and didn't want to know! His answer was "So what do you want?"- answer "A stable connection"

I proceeded to download 2 game files from VM server, one came down at 2.1Mb/s the other at 427Kb/s.

Cream on the coffee- If your modem power supply is on a 4 or 5 gang extention it will be affected as the cycles of the mains supply will vary due to the other things you have plugged in!

I didn't let him go until he'd aranged a tech visit tomorrow from someone who knew what he was talking about.

I think theres a degree of truth to the mains thing but probably not anything at all to do with your issues. Having been there myself, good luck with the techs, I had one good one out of around five but even his promise of his manager watching my line didnt happen. Be persistent!

Lol at the free connection dig that made me laugh :D

I would always use a surge protector just to protect my equipment as for it must be connected direct, he was having a laugh.:p:

Nah he didn't have the brains to have a laugh!

BTW I checked today with B******y the contact at the CEO's office.

NO Activation charge

But ATM it's no better than 20Mb so.......................
