Someone who does use them, could you give me the
server details and also the ideal settings (connections etc).

12 connections is fine for me.
Port 119 used on Newsbin.

Retention is about 7 days.
alt.binaries is supported.
I use binsearch to find nzb's.

just done it, nice speeds.
crappy retention though.

i think using astraweb for older
stuff will be fine, i have the pay as you
download plan which is quite good.

What line are you on?
I am 20mb using Astraweb and can only get about 1200KB/s when i was getting 2400KB/s for years.

i have 50mb with

astras pay as you download plan, 180gb for $25. you get 50 connections and just get to use 180gb until you finish it. then its another $25. suits my needs.

im on the ssl-eu.astraweb server too
use 20 connections and get full speeds

Lucky you, i can only get half of my 20mb now for some reason.
