Today I upgraded my BB to 20Mb, however since the modem has been upgraded i can now only get 5mb/s, this is compared to a solid 10mb/s i previously had. I now have the modem direct into pc and still only getting the same result. Any ideas or is it a helpdesk call?

my sister had the same problem, near perfect 10meg service and now a very poor 20meg service.

Seems to be little info from people in the know why this happens but I will guess that the 20meg service is connected to different UBR equipment to the 10meg service.

If its your pc unable to handle 20mbit due to configuration etc. you would still be able to get your old 10mbit performance.

A pc could handle Wayyyyyy more than 20mbps, thats walking speed, no crawling speed.
Somebody is telling porkies ;)

If we could see the modem stats it may be possible to pin down the problem. Upstream/downstream/event log.

As Marky says if the PC can't handle 20Mb it's about time you renewed that old commador for something newer:D:D:D

Even a pentium 1 can handle it.

As to be connected to different UBR equipment,it's possible but doubtful as there is no need to unless its a case of load balancing.
