Just did a speed test, and I have no idea if this was a fluke or not, but the download speed is 52Mbps

Surely this is a fluke as it's not possible as I'm on 20Mbps and in the modem config it says Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 20480000

Speedtest:

Then did another one for a 2nd try to see if it wasn't fluke and the results are now 30Mbps

3rd time lucky?

Anybody have an explanation why this is happening?

Equipment:
NETGEAR WGT624 V4 (Own router, not a hired Virgin one)
Black Ambit Router (the 20mbps ones)

The speed test is wrong, simples. Try another server rather than Amsterdam.

Haha that simples reminded me of that meerkat advert straight away.
As for different servers:
2.4Mbps on Maidenhead - http://www.speedtest.net/result/757516000.png
19.50Mbps on Birmingham - http://www.speedtest.net/result/757517646.png
2.23Mbps on Manchester - http://www.speedtest.net/result/757518751.png

So it looks like Birmingham is good and resembles my connection best.

As for Amsterdam, it looks like that it's not only the people that get high, but also broadband ;)

Less weed use (apart from British tourists) in Amsterdam than in British cities :)

When I use that wretched speedtest.net I use London or Paris for consistency.

Maidehead is wrecked. Don't bother! Simples.
