Just noticed this in my router WAN Domain Name, when did VM start using this and what is it for?

It's to replace the old NTL/Telewest domain names, they started releasing it before 50Mb was released and I think at first it was the Docsis 3 & 1.1 guys who got it, I think though that in the end everyone will have it

Have a read of this (http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Announcements/Advanced-Network-Error-Search-Glasgow-Trial/td-p/27382), should explain why VM are supplying a domain / DNS suffix as part of the DHCP lease. Not the same thing as the reverse DNS so don't be confused.

Nope that was a trial that ended yesterday, being deployed now I guess but should explain things.

Nope that was a trial that ended yesterday, being deployed now I guess but should explain things. This is something I must have started getting around 6 months ago in Greenwich. I soon opted-out of it via the VM website (although the WAN DNS is still cable.virginmedia.net, I don't get this "suggest a website" oojamaflip).
