I'm wondering if anyone can help out, I'm not all that technial minded but I'll provide as much information as I can, hopefully you guys can help me out.

Everything was fine until a week or two ago, since then I'm unable to use my PS3 really for online gaming, every 15 minutes or so it'll disconnect from online games of MAG, I'm trying to figure out if its my end, the ISP or the servers.

I haven't changed much / if anything from when it was working a couple of weeks ago, so I'm a bit skeptical that its my end.

However occasionally it seems that my other services like PIDGIN (which im running) disconnect all of its services, also I use some browser based IRC and things, these also seem to disconnect often.

I'm sorry if I havn't explained the problem much or given enough info, sorry Im new to all this.

This problems came around about the last 1/2 weeks or so, its the cheapest package with the phone as far as I know (its my dads but i use it 99% of the time).

The modem is a little black box thing, I don't know the model, i think its like a 200 or 250 or something?

Yep, I left it off overnight last night, I've turned it on and off often but with no real joy. But can you walk me through the proper way to do it? Like do I leave the router on but the modem off etc? I just turned everything off last night.

Also I just messed around with that 192.168.100.1 thing and saw there was a tab FULL of critical errors, think this is a problem?

You'd be better off starting your own thread (with a little more detail on what you actually need to know) in the General IT area of the forum :)

Its here by the way :)

Thanks will do, any ideas what I should say? Last time they told me it could be anything, I want to go with as much information as possible otherwise.

Get another one. Frequency 586 MHz is wrong and probably not helping you.

Is the modem running standard ntl firmware, etc, not seen a copy/paste of modem stats that looks like that before.

I have no idea actually about firmware, I thought you meant the router.

I'll get my dad to give them a call tomorrow. Thanks for the help everyone

Just an update, I called VM today and spent the first 15 minutes talking to somone who asked me to restart the modem a few times, then asked about the router, eventually I got annoyed and asked to speak to somone else.

When I spoke to the next guy as soon as i mentioned what you guys said about the frequency he said that was odd and said that may not be causing the problem but that the modem likely has problems if its saying that, he said maybe there was a mistake and the engineer fitted the wrong one, either way somones coming out to replace it next week, anything else I tried to ask he just said to wait till the new modem arrives.
