Can any one say why VM now charge almost 10p a minutes to call 0845 numbers and on BT 0845 and 0870 numbers are free with their unlimited service.
It now seems BT give a much better value when now most of the 0845 numbers are used by Hospitals, Tax ,call centres and even VM to call.
With so many company's using these numbers is it worth having unlimited calls with VM ?

Cable for at least 7 years have had rip-off phone charges, they have said numerous occasions it's their cash-cow.

BT have increased their prices twice in the past 12 months. They are increasing their call connection charges to Virgin's levels from April, and shifting their evening calls package to start from 7pm and not 6pm.

They are just as bad as eachother.

Yeah, that they are, new BT times as mentioned in other threads too.

If I wasn't on such a good deal I may have gone back to being VoIP only again as previously was for over 3 years and then use GiffGiff and my contract Vodafone with Vodafone Family for other calls.

BT have other charges which they don't like to mention, trust me your bills will come the same.

BT's unfair costs:

6p charge everytime you press 3 on 1471 even if the call doesn't connect.
£4 per month for Anonymous Caller Rejection
£2.59 per month for a single calling feature
Nearly £13 per month for line rental
£125 for phone line installation
Expensive broadband

BT are also changing the evening rate hours from 6pm to 8am to 7pm 7am. And the call connection fee on chargeable calls is going up as well.

You can't do right for doing wrong really!

Remember 0845 and 0870 numbers are disappearing andf you will find that most companies are migrating to 03 numbers as well as 0843,0844 and 0871 numbers which are not included in inclusive calls.
