This may sound strange, speedtests are averaging 40mbs. But when browsing it feels sluggish, I'm using a new computer, and it feels like the connection keeps dropping. Can someone help?

Can we see it all please? Upstream/Downstream/Operational Cpnfiguration/Event log.

Also if you hit the CONNECTION link at the top of the page, please paste your CMTS data (not the IP address nor your customer number).

Sorry to ask again - can we see a complete set including the event log. And your CMTS from the CONNECTION link.

The times of day and frequencies are pertinent to any analysis of what might be going on.

The Downstream is rather high for 50Mb but if you are seeing over 40Mb on speed tests then you are within the range for a up to 50Mb connection.

The are no T4's on the modem so no loss of connection.

Try this speed test as it the one we would use to check your speed if you called in.

click on these 2 gamefiles battlefield_2142_demo.exe and bfme2demo_english_final.exe and save them to your desktop, and then wait a couple of minutes then write down the transfer rates on the files that are running add them together then multiply them by 8 and you will get a truer download speed.

Remember to stop and delete the files.

i.e : 250Kbps X 8 = 2Mbps, 500Kbps X 8 = 4Mbps, 1250Kbps X 8 = 10Mbps, 2500Kbps X 8 = 20Mbps

Then add 10% to the final figure to account for any processes running on your computer.
