New series starting on "Starz" (some US cable channel) on Friday 22nd January, about "Spartacus" (obviously).
From Robert Tapert & Sam Raimi (Hercules, Xena, Legend of the Seeker).

I very much doubt it will be even remotely approach the epic greatness of HBO/BBC's "Rome", & it may well even end up a load of crap... but it has some good cast members, including the lovely Lucy Lawless... oh, & I've read it's quite rude...
I watched 2 episodes yesterday ;) I really enjoyed it.
They have taken a very 300 apporach in the styling and there is nudity and a lot of blood and guts in it.
So much blood! This could be an awesome show.

After an iffy start, this has been getting better. And of course it's full of OTT blood, violence, & sex.

I am enjoying this but season 2 is delayed because the lead actor has non-Hodgkin lymphoma

Just have to say this show is superb and cannot recommend it enough.
Sad news about Andy Whitfield but I'm sure he'll be back in the arena soon

I thought the end of the previous episode was brutal, with Ilithyia smashing Lycinia's head in, but the latest one... poor Varro :(

I know I just watched ep 10. It is a good series I was off put at first by the comic strip blood effects but I am ok with it now lol . Shame we never got to see Xenas boobies when she was in her prime but they aint to bad still lol its certainly raunchy

Yeah, I think it's greatly improved since the first few episodes.
As for Xena's boobies... I think they're rather impressive :D

They've set things up nicely for the climax
hmm in view of the adult scenes should I be using that description ;)
Talk about overkill! :D Excellent finale. Can't wait for season 2.

"KILL THEM ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Absolutely fantastic finale!
So many great bits. I particularly liked the scene between Spartacus & Crixus in the training square, where they made their "If I die..." agreement.
And I had been wondering how they would introduce Oenomaus, so it was great to find that it was DOCTORE! :D
Awesome.
I hope the wait for season 2 isn't too long... (it's been delayed due to Andy Whitfield being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma).
Apparently they'll be doing a 6 episode prequel to keep the fans going while Andy is having his treatment.

Agreed
This has got to be one of the if not the bloodiest show on tv lol
Jupiters C**k! Amazing finale!!!!
Must admit it is the most brutal show at the moment but absolutely superb.
So its only Ilithyia and Ashur left to tell the tale. Any predictions for season 2?

Yup, awesome stuff.
I was really rather dubious when it first started, it did seem to just be an OTT mix of 300 & Gladiator.
Yet it quickly found its feet & developed into a very good drama (albeit still containing OTT sex, gore, & language :D ).
Season 2... I guess it will move more into the actual slave rebellion / Third Servile War

I know this is for season 1 but Andy Whitfield won't be returning for season 2 of Spartacus because his cancer has returned. No news on what will happen now.

Hope he gets better soon.

Yeah, I saw that posted on BXB. Not good news at all :(
I hope he recovers soon.
Re. the series... tbh I think it would be better to end it rather than re-cast, if he is definitely unable to return.
Yeah, that's where I saw it. I think if they wanna continue the show then maybe the prequel should be 2 seasons to see if he improves, either that or do a sequel but focus on someone else.
So we are never going to get the 'I am Spartacus' scene then?:erm:
I am Spartacus!
There you go :D
