Yeah, I thought if the ready light was flashing you were borked.

Indeed, I've had NTL broadband for years and even worked on their helpdesk for 5 years and I never seen this before.

Mine has been flashing for well over a week with no ill effects either. Levels all look fine too.

Maybe it's a new feature to let you know it's OK? :dunce:

I'm in Swansea, maybe it's another hair brained idea they launch on South Wales before testing on the others. :)

It happens on mine also, its something to do with the modem connecting to the BSR, originally when the problem started when the ready light was flashing i couldnt get a connection to the net as the modem wasnt being issued an IP address, now it happens and i cant get a connection BUT! its only on first attempt at connection. If u unplug the modem and repower on it sorts the problem out.

I always know when my modem connects to the BSR as thats the problem i get first off. I had a virgin tech here this morning as my modem is bouncing between UBR and BSR and when connects to the BSR upstream powerlevel is around 61.5dBmv and its a network issue.

Mine has also been doing this for a couple weeks now. Seems to work perfectly fine. Slighty annoying when watching TV as mines on the shelf just below it though.

Use a blob of blue tack to block the flashing.

Rebooted the modem tonight and the ready has now stopped flashing. I noticed this in the logs, haven't noticed the DCC references before, anyone know what it is?

Time to bring an old thread back from the dust...

I am having this 'problem' too. Ready light been flashing for a few days now but internet is working at full speed. Anyone else got this recently?

Like a previous poster, my modem is in my line of sight to the TV so its getting annoying. I too will be using the blu tak fix for now :p:

I have this issue (though last night I did get some ping drops) and talking with the chaps in the know, it's a known issue with certain equipment at our end.

Sometimes (usually some months later) service will drop and when fixed the flashing will stop too for a while.
