Hi,
I can run Teamspeak 3 [client] and listen to all but as soon as try and speak
I getmassive packet loss and my goes from around 18ms to over 460ms depending how long I keep my press to talk button on.

I have tried I think everything. This is driving me crazy please can someone help.

I have completed a ping test at Pingtest.net without pressing the push to talk

Thanks for the reply Sephiroth , seems there is a problem but no answers yet. I never had a problem with Teamspeak 2 , strange.

Has the default codec changed from TS2 to TS3??

GPR

How do I find out what codec we are using?
Thanks for the quick reply.

It's normally in the server settings or the connection info..

I asked about the codec as the wrong codec can smother a connection and if you're playing a game using the same connection (normally multiple connections) it can cause problems wiht the earlier TS's

Not looked at the technical specifications but TS3 has a significantly different sounding codec and much lower latency and is not backwards compatible with TS2.

The codec we are using is CELT Mono [48KHz]

I am still lost

Its strange but 2 other teams members from the next town with virgin media same speed have 0 packet loss.

We have tried changing to diff codec's makes a slight difference.
Begining to think its my computer.

Is there perhaps a router/direct2modem difference in the connections??

Is there perhaps a router/direct2modem difference in the connections??

Would it be possible to explain to me what this means ?

Just been thinking could it be a virus or trojan thats effecting my ping and packet loss?

I use nod32.
Whats the best to find spyware remover ?? Is Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware the best ?

I am trying to find a reason for the following problems hope someone can help me...........

I am with V/M on 20meg
I am trying to find where my UBR is and then ping that UBR is that possible?
I use Teamspeak 3 and play COD 4 durring game if I speak on TS3 I get massive packet loss and ping.
I release the button and stop using TS3 and my ping and packet loss return to normal 0.00% packet loss 18-22 ping.
I have used a website to tracroute I think my UBR

traceroute from 193.62.127.224 (icfamon.dl.ac.uk) to ++++++++++ (cpc1-watf6-0-0-cust***.watf.cable.ntl.com) for ++++++++++

Haven't we covered the TS3 issue before? Would it be helpful if your COD4 group or one member temporarily switched to Ventrilo (for a trial) as a control mechanism to see whether TS3 can be blamed? You already said that TS2 was no problem. My son does much the same and said his group decided on Ventrilo after discarding Teamspeak.

As I think you've found out, if you hit the CONNECTION link at the top of this page, your UBR appears in a pop-up. It's resistant to pings for DoS purposes but will pass them through.

If you pathping to www.bbc.co.uk you'll see whether or not your UBR is holding you up. The time of a ping past hop #2 is the key and the packets forwarded (or loss) are clearly shown as a count.

It is a known problem with TS3 and bad connections, TeamSpeak forum link (http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=47552&highlight=packet+loss) and by the looks of it you'll have to wait for the update with the "high latency" codecs in it.
