makes no difference.
I don't have VM's 50 meg service, but I do have quite extensive experience of Macs. VM's 50 meg service should work as well on the Mac as it does a PC. Our Macs at work are connected by a 1 Gig LAN (1,000 ish meg) and can cope with those speeds easily, so should be able to cope with 50.
Thanks for reply. Is a case of just plugging it in or will i need a engineer call out to set it up?.
Its my first iMac so sorry for not knowing much.
If you have a router, just plug it in to the router. It should pick up the necessary settings automatically.
If you don't, you need to plug it straight into the modem, then power down the modem and power it up again.
Hi im on 50 meg already so have both the VM Modem and Router.
Thanks
Should be just a case of plug in and go then.
Macs have no issues on any of the Virginmedia platforms and it works with the router flawlessly.

Feel free to post any questions you have once you get your Mac, whether or not they have anything to do with your Virgin service. There are a few Mac users on here and we're always delighted to help. :wavey:

Yup !
My house is currently using an iMac, MacBook and I'm typing this on my MacBook Pro, all on VM 50Mb. No issues at all, in fact they're far easier to get connected than the couple of Windows laptops we have !
Any problems or questions with the Mac, feel free to ask (PM if you wish).
Most importantly though, enjoy it !

Thanks both, really appreciated. Delivery date is 1st Feb, but the chap said it might be quicker than that. Here's hoping ;)
