I am planning to upgrade my 10MB service to 50MB but I don't want my contract to be longer. Does the contract stay the same when upgrading?

From personal experience, when you upgrade, it starts a new contract.

I will happily confirm it, an upgrade to 50Mbit is a new 1 year contract.

I am a student and I share a house with 3 other students.
We will probably live somewhere else after the first year and possibly not together anymore. I know you can transfer services to other house but the contract is on one person and he is paying the bills from his account (we are obviously paying him back) he is not sure however if his potential new house mates will want a 50MB connection.
