my internet connection breaks for couple of minutes each time my phone rings, however it gets restored back to normal automatically and I can still browse the internet while talking on the phone. It means my filter is ok. BT says their line is ok, Virginmedia their service is ok. What's going on!?

Forgive me for not looking this up fully - but my memory tells me that kitz.co.uk has the full skinny on this.

Do a google search on something like "improve your adsl broadband connection" and "ADSL drops when the phone rings". The hit for kitz.co.uk should help.

My bet is the filter. Remember when the phone rings there's a voltage blast - or at least there was in my day!

I have always had this issue when I was on ADSL, thats even with a filter. I think it may be something you just have to deal with.

I had this issue in 3 of my houses with 2 different ISP's and one of my houses had a brand new BT line installed. Nor BT or my ISP said it was there issue.
