They've already promised it for November and add to that the fact that the new PS3 ad I seen on TV tonight showed the Video store am hoping that its still on course for this month. Could even come as soon as this Thursday with the PSN store update :) If not I would imagine next week.

just had a look myself, nothing yet.

Edit: having a scout round the Sony press release is dated for tomorrow which is where C&VG got the "available now" from

Still over 800 films on release is a good start :)

Well it looks good but the prices are a Rip as usual. Sony really need to do some research before launching services in the UK. They always charge us more than anyone else.

I would of probably been a regular user of the rental service had the prices been a little lower but £2.90 odd for an old film and £3.90 odd for a new one in SD is a con. £4.90 odd to rent the HD versions. Shame on Sony again !

On a positive note there's a pretty decent selection and theres a large selection to, just a shame about the prices.

Really ? Have to admit I didn't know that tbh. In any case everything I said still stand's if you just remove "Sony" from the comments. I think the prices are a con. I always thought the whole point in DD was to save on manufactoring costs etc etc but that never seems to be passed on to us the Consumer.

When you compair these's prices against things like lovefilm which gives a month's service for around the cost of one rental in this case it just seems insane.

I assume you already had a PS3 Master account ? If so then check the following.

5. This promotion is only open to eligible persons who have not, prior to the Promotional Period, created a PSN master or sub-account account on their PS3 system. Only one PSN promotion code is available per eligible person per PS3 system.

The full details about it are at the following link - PlayStation Movie Downloads - Their war. Our world. Your free Transformers movie. (http://videostore.uk.playstation.com/their-war-our-world-your-free-transformers-movie-2.html)

Lovefilm.com Dont do HD download rentals they do SD streaming rentals for the same prices as PSN SD Download rental.
Dont forget PSP user this is their service not just PS3..
BD rentals actualy stop Films going to download rental untill after the BD rental has had a chance. Rental firms Pay A fixed price per Rental license then, they try to get a return on that. If Digital HD download launched a Month after the cinema. BD rentals Would not make a good enough return.

I was not actually taking about DD rentals. I was talking about having access to lovefilm for a month which was just an example for around the amount of one rental in DD. I'm now talking about DD as a whole. I just dont see the appeal yet at the current prices.
