Hi,
I recently came across this forum after trying to find a solution to a persistent problem I've been having and was wondering if anyone could help. I am using the 10mb (manually upgraded from 2mb) service, and have been experiencing problems with torrent speeds and downloading in general.
With torrents, I usually reach around 400-600kb/s in the first minute, before dramatically dropping to around 25-30kb/s, all within the first minute of downloading. This happens with ANY torrent, regardless of seeds and peers. It always sticks around 30kb/s. It feels like I'm constantly capped. I've even let the internet be for a whole 24 hours before trying again but this problem won't go away. I also experience extremely slow flash video buffering times, etc. This has been going on for at least 3 months now.
These are my modem stats:
Cable Modem : Euro-DOCSIS 1.0/1.1/2.0 Compliant
Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 5
Downstream Frequency : 586750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 6952 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps12Increment17
Downstream Receive Power Level : -5.0 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 33.9 dB
Upstream Lock : Locked
Upstream Channel ID : 4
Upstream Frequency : 37500000 Hz
Upstream Modulation : QAM16
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream transmit Power Level : 48.5 dBmV
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2
Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge could give me some advice :)
Thanks in advance!
