I have VM 50mb however I am receiving poor speeds via the supplied wireless router.

When I connect via ethernet either straight into the router or straight into the modem the download speeds from usenet are great, usually maxing out the capacity of the connection.

The problem comes when I connect via the wireless, the strength of the connection fluctuates between 81 - 160mb and the download speeds from usenet fluctuates between 2500 - 3000.

I cannot see any problems with the config of the DIR 615. On another forum I saw someone mention Packet Bursting, but I can't find an option on the DIR 615 to enable this.

The wireless router is on the same floor as PC, it is not in direct sight however only 1 wall and a couple of corners are obstructing the signal.

Someone from gumtree is offering me the netgear WNR2000 for £17.50 delivered. I am reluctant to buy the router if there is not going to much of a performance upgrade I would rather put the money I would spend on the router towards a set of homeplugs.

Thanks
Michael

The WNR2000 is a poor router, it was good for me but then it went really bad, funnily enough I had poor speeds on wireless after updating the firmware.
