Hi all, been a long time reader but hardly ever post.

Could somebody check and see if the info i have from my modem settings is correct. When i download files it goes from 5.8mb/s to 2-3mbs evry 10 secs or so, not really annoying but since i just got it installed today , i want to make sure the power levels etc are ok. Thanks guys.

PS This is through the new modem , hardwired to this pc. Also connected is the Netgear Wireless-n Router (for the girlfriends laptop).

.
Your Upstream is rather high so a call to 50Mb support is advised, call after 0800 tomorrow for a UK call centre on 0800 052 0431.

Thanks for the quick reply Moldova. What should it be at, and is that the reason behind the diff downloading speeds?

Thanks again;)

Usually mid 40's is good and that could the cause, or it could be the sites you are downloading from.

Try this as it is what we test your speeds with.http://www.virginmedia.com/testmyspeed/manual.php

That site seems a bit more stable than gamershell , download went up to 5.5mbs and didnt go below 5.0mbs. I will still ring them in the morning. Shall i just explain the about the upstream levels, will they know what im talking about most of all lol.

Thanks again Moldova. Great stuff :)

If you are getting over 5Mbps the connection seems OK, ringing up will just give you piece of mind.
