Hey guys

I'm on 10mb line and was just wondering if 60/80gb per month is too much? do virgin even limit you to an amount each month?

Someone said it's 100gb per month on BT so just wondering.

60-80Gb is nothing.

Some people on the board are doing almost 1Tb a month (1024Gb)

It is unlimited data transfer in that sense.

But if you download lots at the wrong time you will get the dreaded 'traffic managing'

Most I've done is 880GB in one month, no letter. I average 450GB/month normally. Don't worry :) As above you will get throttled (traffic managed) but you can still download 70GB/day if you download at maximum during both traffic managed and non-traffic managed periods.

Makes me feel better i don't always do 80GB sometimes it won't even be 40GB per month i was just checking to see if there was a cap of some kind that you shouldn't go over but with 450GB per month i'm pretty sure not. :p: :D

Not totally accurate due to work related transfers in the office and internal LAN but probably not too many miles off:

Month Upload Download Total
September 2009 54.886 GiB 117.583 GiB 172.495 GiB
August 2009 50.500 GiB 85.067 GiB 135.566 GiB
July 2009 84.461 GiB 109.320 GiB 193.781 GiB
June 2009 34.923 GiB 35.553 GiB 70.476 GiB
May 2009 59.148 GiB 54.759 GiB 113.907 GiB

Yes I know I'm a bit asymmetrical for September, I'm working on it!

Current Throughput Downstream 1.48Mbit/s Upstream 1.79Mbit/s

Downstream is all LAN, I'm streaming a 1.411Mbit FLAC from media server :)
