Hi,

Can someone please check these stats for me, we recently had 50 meg installed.

Is there a way to check if my broadband connection keeps disconnecting, my router doesnt seem to give me a time and date of when its happening and 192.168.100.1 does not say how long the connection has been up for.

Im not sure if its my router thats causing the diconnection or my VM new modem it says my router was up since 8:30PM but my connection has only been up for 40 mins... So it must have disconnected again while I was watching the TV.

Looks like a problem downstream - wanna try pasting the Correctable / Uncorrectable codewords again?

You do appear to be 'downstream impaired' those errors continue to increment.

What do the logs on the modem say, anything referencing loss of sync?

No, the event logs are blank nothing in them..

What does downstream impaired mean?

Should I contact VM?

I was being politically correct.

You have intermittent issues with your downstream, and should contact VM to discuss.

I've just had this in status page, does it mean anything?

First TimeLast TimePriorityDescription Sat Sep 19 12:53:55 2009 Sat Sep 19 12:53:55 2009 Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=xxxx
CMTS-MAC=xxxx;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;

My connection has not disconnected, but I'm now getting pings of 500 and my speed is around 15meg....

That just relates to upstream and is not a critical issue.

Ok I have booked a 50meg engineer visit, what should I tell him once he comes?

I will mention that my speed is really slow and browsing webpages are really slow at times too until I reboot the modem, but I dont really want him to just replace the modem and leave like they have with my 20meg before.

What could be the issue that causes this, if he replaces the modem and checks the signal is there anything else he can do?

Should I mention that Im downstream impaired, will he know what thats means?

Thanks in advance
TD
