Hey,

What are the specs (CPU speed, RAM/Flash sizes) of the WNR2000? I ahve googled but have results varying from 200-400MHz, 8MB-32MB and 2MB-8MB respectively...

If someone who knows could pass on, that would be cool :)

Which doesn't tell you the CPU size or RAM.

But NETGEAR was kind enough to tell me that the radio is the 3x3 AR9103 and the CPU/MAC/Baseband the AR9132. The 10/100 switch is an Atheros AR8216 6 port 10/100 and I could clearly tell from looking at the board that there is 32 MB of RAM and 4 MB of flash.

Many thanks Kymmy, that looks to be what I was after :)

Looks like 400MHz, 32MB and 4MB - the CPU and RAM are double what my WRT54GL currently has so it should be nice and quick! :D

For peripherals such as routers they very rarely give full CPU/MEM specs as most think it's not relevant to the capabilty of the router..

Hah 32MB of RAM my backside or they're wasting it on other things. It dies with a fraction of the load my old Buffalo which had 16MB of RAM did suggesting a smaller NAT table through having less memory available.

Though the Buffalo didn't have Netgear bloatware installed on it which probably saves a fair bit.

And as soon as openwrt/ddwrt are written for the WNR it'll be going on mine. The Netgear software is just so painfully slow and limited, coming from a WRT54GL with Tomato on it.

50Mb installed today - but we received a D-Link DIR-615 instead?! The Installer said VM had recently switched to the D-Links...

Its very fast, only issue for me is it doesn't support NAT Loopback which our old WRT54GL did :(

Is there any way that I can get VM to replace my WNR2000 with the new DLink models? My router is choking at every available opportunity and it's really annoying. I've already had it replaced with another WNR2000 as I thought the unit was faulty, but now it just seems that Netgear are quite proficient in manufacturing turds in a box.

If anyone from VM knows if this is possible, I'd love to hear from them.
