hi new to this do enyone no if the d-link d-524 can handle virgins new 50meg line or have i got to use there net gear one that thay told me i had to use

Yes. It should work. Probably on the factory default settings for the ethernet connexion.

The WAN setting would be Dynamic IP Address.

DHCP Server should be Enabled and I wouldn't use Static DHCP.

thanks for the info it all set up was just that virgin said it wont work thanks for you time and info

They probably meant that they won't support it. You probably will find that lots of things will work but if they say they don't support it then it is up to you and not them to fix it when it goes wrong!

The 524 is a G router and the supplied router is an N router, its not rocket science the N is better and faster.

If you choose to stay with the old G router then remember not to call in over speed issues.:D
