Could anyone please enlighten me to what the official upload speed is on 50mb?
I am thinking of getting it next month when the new pricing comes in, but I can't seem to find anywhere that tells you the upload speed.

The advertised speed is 1.5mb but I think the actual speed is 1.75mb. Someone should be able to confirm :)

Despite the problems I had with VM in the past, if they offered 2.5mb or higher upload, I'd probably switch back.
Although aren't there plans to offer a higher upload at some point?

Believed to be, nothing guaranteed or confirmed yet.
