I have two questions really.....

I have a Windows laptop and my partner has a Mac, I know the adapter will work on my windows, but what can be done to allow the mac to receive the maximum speeds?

Also is it possible to use the inbuilt wireless LAN G on my laptop to access the WIRELESS N router if i had too?

Also do you guys know if i would lose any discounts if i upgraded?

Thanks in advance :)

Hello,

If your using Wifi - you will never get the 50MB. Personally, i'd reccomend Ethernet if possible.

1) I thought most Macs had Wireless N built in anyway?

2) Yes

3) Depends on what discounts you have - you would obviously recieve the appropriate discounts for having 50Mbit

Actually you left 3 questions! But I can only answer this one. Yes the N wireless is backwards compatible with G. However the G wireless will be too slow to get the full 50mbit.

Lol...It's been a very long day :)

Thanks for all the answers.

Basically im currently getting,

L BB: 25:00
XL TV: 23.00
Line Rental : 11.00
Phone M: 3.45
3 for 44(Non Care) TVXL,BBL,TL TW : 13.00CR

Making my current monthly payment, £49.45.

So if i added the xxl broadband would the discount stay? or would i lose it? I just wanna get a rough estimate of pricing before i call them up tomorrow :) Thanks Guys.

It would be replaced by an £18.50 discount

Your services including XXL broadband would be £63.95 (from 1st September)

£45 BB XXL (advertised as £28 because of £17 discount)
Phoneline £11
TEW £3.45
TV XL £23 (advertised as £21.50 because of £1.50 discount)
-£18.50 Discount (£17 + £1.50 discounts combined)
= £63.95

However it is likely that if you phone up before the 1st you would be quoted £70.95

Thanks ben, Would it be beneficial if i added Phone Xl. because on the website that comes up cheaper than the M packaged with the XXL bb and the XL tv?

It would be £66 so would be more expensive (currently shows on the website as £57 + £11 phoneline = £68)
