Hi Guys, I have just been looking round and found this:
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/broadband/faqs.html#5

Can more than one computer use my internet connection?
If you have more than one computer at home, and you'd like them to share the same internet connection, the easiest way is to set up a wireless network in your home. You'll need a wireless router (we'll give you one for free*). Once you're set up, the whole household can get online at the same time - and there's no need for messy cables.

"You'll need a wireless router (we'll give you one for free*)"So If I call VM for one will I get one for free ?

Not unless you are a new customer, the is a reason for the Asterisk so you read the terms and conditions here at number 4 http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/broadband/compare.html

Or, if you are an existing Broadband customer you can qualify for a free router if you upgrade to the next Broadband tier (e.g M to L or L to XL etc) and agree to a new 12 month term

Well that would be why then. Wireless didn't come in as an option until April 2008 and the 'get a free one if you upgrade' (excluding XXL) is new this month ;)

It was October 2006 or thereabouts that Telewest were dishing out free Netgear WRG614v6 wireless routers to existing customers (if they rung up to ask) on or upgrading to the 10Mb tier

I know that, but it wasn't part of the official product, nor was it advertised
