please oh please please get rid of that overseas helpdesk. Its a waste of our time and your money.

"your" being Virgin Media? or Cableforum? ;)

You'd also be surprised just how many issues are solved by restarting a device.

Yes I know... I was a system admin for a few years before joining a telecoms company and I've now been doing that for 10 years as a network engineer.

I found it fitting because thats the catchphrase of the "IT Crowd" programme...


and as the Virgin Media Overseas Helpdesk seem to be reading off a screen...

"Have you tried turning it off and on again" seems to be Number ONE on the list regardless of any problem..



My current issue is effecting not only broadband but also my television/on-demand service.... and they still think that me rebooting my modem is going to clear it..
