View Full Version : 50 Mb connection problems as well

Hi all not sure if anybody else is having the same problem as it may be the "snoozing " problem again.

Since I have had the 50Mb installed I have noticed that the internet "goes down" and the network port on the cable modem is not active. A reboot of both modem and router resolves this. I then thought it might have been my router and changed to the netgear one supplied by VM and it still does the same.

When it goes down down I can ping my router but not the cable modem (192.168.100.1) and then have to reboot them both for it to be working again. This can sometimes last for hours and it can also last a few seconds before going down again.

It also went down whilst I was typing this, it is just about unusable at the moment :( :mad: and took numnerous reboots to get it back up and running.

Eventually I went back to my linsys router and back up and running but it wasn't having it with the free netgear one !!

Any thoughts ??

Post the power levels so we can check they are ok

What I want you to post is the Downstream power levels including the SNR (RXMER) and the Upstream power levels for me thanks.

Hope that is all OK, but since I have changed back to my linksys router .... all is well for now. I coul dnot get back on at all with the free netgear one :(

Your power levels are fine so you need to call the 50Mb support line

50Mb support line number.

cheers, just changed to open dns as well as could not get on here and speed dropped down to less than 10mb. I will do some more tests and then give them a ring if still a problem.

just come off the phone and all those in the DN35 area they is a problem with the internet and they are working on it & it shud b fine tomorrow. Still doesn't explain why my netgear router has stopped working though ???
