Very large (5 footish) it will be the Multiplexer hardware and launch amp for tv and bb. Smaller (3 to 4 foot) it will telephone connections and an Rf amplifier and a tv/bb tap plate. Very small (2 footish) and it is passive and is just telephone connections and a tap plate.

...or have you just opened and odd coloured microwave?

Apart from all the cables, in the small green street box, there is a little man from Bangalore flicking through a Hindi / English phrase book.

Don't forget his copy of the BOFH "Excuse of the day" calendar.

So the green cabinet is the new Tardis. There must be room, therefore, for a time lord with a mild stutter, long shaggy hair, a greying beard and an enormous set of smiling teeth. Will he save us from the dreaded cyber-outtage or the v-stuff gremlin?

All I know is that whenever I see a VM van parked anywhere near the green cabinet on our street, I'm certain to have a problem with BB and/or TV in the next 24 hrs.

Once the engineer disconnected us completely, apparently just to get a connection for a new customer:( . Took em 3 days to work that one out :(

Strangely, with ADSL, whenever you see an openreach van you know there's gonig to be trouble.
