Hey Guys! (And Girls ;)

A Not so happy Be customer is leaving BE and he is stating that Virgin Media have Told him that if he signs up to the 50MB Service , they will Guarantee a minimum Speed of 20MB

Is this Statement Correct?

Virgin are giving me a "20 mb MINIMUM" guarantee on their 50MB service.

No. There is no guarantee of performance at all on any tier.

That said he is highly likely to see significantly more than 20Mbit 99.9% of the time and around the 50Mbit mark the vast majority of the time.

The only guarantee they might give is that if they can't deliver over 20Mbit they'll downgrade you, however 20Mbit is well into the fault range on 50Mbit no-one is reporting any significant congestion at the moment.

The statement of having a guaranteed (20 MegaByte) is the equivalent of having a 160 Megabits broadband connection. Man, I would be insanely jealous if you had that type of connection. Even 50 Megabits users would be up in arms. :-)

Just curious to know what was the problem with Be Broadband?

*Sighs at the capitalisation / units police post ;)

I know plenty on faster services than my 50Mbit, can either take it or bitch and moan to get our services brought up to par. I also however know plenty who drool after my 50Mbit!
