Hello,

is there a way to make a cable broadband virginmedia modem that was setup for a virgin account that has been terminated to work on a new account thats just been opened? is there a way the settings on the modem could be accessed and changed to work with the new account settings?

Thanks

There is, but it has to be done by Virgin, and they won't do it..

You will need new equipment as the mac address is assigned to the account and when the account has been disconnected the equipment will have been removed so it shouldn't lock on to the network.

They done it for me, I called to order, then called tech support the next day after I had recieved a letter, gave them the mac code from the modem and I was connected.

The question is, why didnt you get a modem sent to you or installed when you signed up ?
