Hi all

Random question but does the white VM coax cable in my house carry any voltage?

Only reason i ask is i have just got a kitten and keeping my eye on her 24/7 is hard so i turn everything off at the plug just in case she decides to bite a wire etc if i'm out the room in the shower etc...

Plus i don't want to keep shutting her in the kitchen

Thanks in advance

In theory there should be none. By law, all installations should include an isolator that prevents any external voltages reaching the internal cabling. The design is tested to >2kV for over a minute. That's not to say it was installed correctly!

There's some juice on the wire but not an enormous amount.

It's only low power RF and should be harmless, but I wouldn't risk it personally. A life can't be replaced.
