I am on 20Mbit with an Ambit 256 Modem and one of the Samsung VBox's as well. There is a splitter between the Cable Modem and the VBox.

Recently I have noticed the Operation Config Page on the cable modem showing these values

Network Access : Allowed
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 0
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 0
Maximum Upstream Channel Burst : 0
Maximum Number of CPEs : 1
Modem Capability : Concatenation Enabled, Fragametation Enabled, PHS Enabled

I have rebooted several times and it is the same. Strangely I am averaging 19Mbit downstream on speed tests which is the most it has been since I upgraded.

there were also some other strange entries in the event log;

Fri Jun 26 01:33:26 2009 Fri Jun 26 01:33:26 2009 Critical (3) SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Failed to receive MAC S...
Fri Jun 26 01:32:22 2009 Fri Jun 26 01:32:22 2009 Information (7) Downstream sync ok
Fri Jun 26 01:32:22 2009 Fri Jun 26 01:32:22 2009 Information (7) locked and synced to rescue CMTS...all is well!
Fri Jun 26 01:32:22 2009 Fri Jun 26 01:32:22 2009 Information (7) Downstream sync ok

this is the current downstream and upstream power levels;

Cable Modem Downstream
Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 23
Downstream Frequency : 315000000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM256
Downstream Symbol Rate : 6952 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps12Increment17
Downstream Receive Power Level : -4.0 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 37.9 dB

Cable Modem Upstream
Upstream Lock : Locked
Upstream Channel ID : 4
Upstream Frequency : 47400000 Hz
Upstream Modulation : QAM16
Upstream Symbol Rate : 2560 Ksym/sec
Upstream transmit Power Level : 55.3 dBmV
Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 2

Anyone got any ideas why the operation config page is not showing any values for upstream or downstream?

It is a known issue and is no cause for concern.

Moldova,

Thanks for that was beginning to wonder if there was something funky going on as my IP had changed as well.

The IPs that Virgin use are Dynamic so are prone to change even if you seem to keep the same IP for months on end.
