Hi,

I have been getting pretty patchy performance since my BB was upgraded to 10Mb. I have checked the signal level sticky thread which states;

Edit: 18/02/2006

Both Telewest and ntl are now using the more efficient, but demanding 256QAM modulation in some areas. This gives more bandwidth but required better networks. For this modulation the recommended power range is -6dBmV to +15dBmV with a recommended SNR of 33dB.

In addition to this, Telewest are using the 16QAM upstream modulation in some areas. This requires an upstream transmit power below +55dBmV.

My downstream levels are

Cable Modem Downstream
Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 0
Downstream Frequency : 586750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 6952 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps12Increment17
Downstream Receive Power Level : 0.1 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 38.6 dB

On the face of it the power ans SNR on my modem seem within specification. Am I reading this right?

Your Downstream is fine but you need to post the Upstream.

Help much appreciated.:)

Cable Modem Upstream

Upstream transmit Power Level : 45.0 dBmV

Your power levels are fine so any problem must be elsewhere and you may have to call Tech Support.

Thanks. Before clling tech support I will try a direct connection to the modem to eliminate any router/wifi related issued.

Thanks for your help.
