Maidenhead 510ms Ping

London 27ms Ping
Paris 525ms Ping

It been like this for a week now

I have rebooted both Cable Modem and Router.

Is it actually making any difference to your service?

Seriously don't worry about a bad ping to speedtest.net it's not necessarily accurate.

I don't think it is, but I did noticed when I was playing a game online, it was lagging a few times, and game maps seem to take a bit longer to load.

But both them could be down to the server I was on.

If it was just a one off probably not a major issue. Speedtest.net has never displayed an accurate ping for me even though the results have been accurate speed wise, the way it measures them relies on Flash.

Try running a manual ping, speedtest always gave me a huge ping which was never accurate, try pinging something like the bbc.co.uk, thats the one I usually use

yeh pings to bbc should really be under 20ms constant as long as u arent doing anythin on ur connection.

Why do people take speed test results as how there connection is, here is one i did on 50meg, the bottom one being my true speed.

No problems here (apart from speed.io giving me a higher upload then I should have)

You just can't rely on speed tests to say that's how my connection is working, so many times i have run them and got 8 meg then downloaded something and its maxed my connection out at 6200kb/s ish.

Hi,

I just worked out what causing it.
It is Comodo Firewall, so I have uninstalled and turn on the Windows Firewall for now.

Net seems a bit more faster at both loading a connecting to the site
