Every now and then the router I got from Virgin for 50mb needs resetting. It starts behaving very oddly, I can't connect to the internet but I can see the router information page (192.168.1.1).

A restart of the router seems to do the trick. However the modem is showing the below in the log:

Sun Jun 28 09:08:59 2009 Sun Jun 28 09:08:59 2009 Critical (3) No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=XX:XX:XX:XX:XX;CMTS-MAC=XX:XX:XX:XX:XX;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;
Sun Jun 28 09:09:53 2009 Sun Jun 28 09:10:59 2009 Critical (3) Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 time out;CM-MAC=XX:XX:XX:XX:XX;CMTS-MAC=XX:XX:XX:XX:XX;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;

Any advice? It started yesterday and since then has happened 3 times.

Call the 50Mb support line and they will transfer yoiu to Netgear.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
50Mb support line number.

0800 052 0431

Do not call if not 50Mb as you will be asked to hang up as the is no facility to transfer you to Broadband Support.

Cheers. The router and modem were both on the carpet behind the tv, so I've shifted them up on to my entertainment centre and kept them ventilated. They could potentially just have been over-heating. If I get the error again then I'll give them a call.

Thanks!

Please do NOT post modem MAC numbers, they are not needed by anyone on this forum and all you're doing is helping a cloner gain services illegally

Thanks
