Hi all,

Where's the best place to buy holiday money at the moment?

Suppose the best place is who has the best exchange rates, so is there a comparison site which gives the best money exchange rates?

Cheers
Lee

If you are flying, Travelex (http://www.travelex.co.uk/uk/) usually have one of the best rates if you order in advance and collect at the airport.
I've also found Eurochange to do a good deal - see if there is one nearby (http://www.eurochange.co.uk/bureaux_locator.asp).

The post office doesn't charge for their cash.

The post office doesn't charge for their cash.
They do, by stealth.
They're rates are worse than a lot of other places.

I used to use Marks & Spencers. They were quite good.

Post Office Lee, they have some good deals on at the moment and they won't charge you a fee if you want to change it back when you get home.

I have a Nationwide Visa Debit card - always draw cash out locally from machines. The exchange rate is better, you only draw out what you need, and there are no additional charges from Nationwide. (Outside Europe now I think they are passing on the 1% charge from Visa which is still far less than others).

We got ours from Thomas Cook i believe.

Edit: Or it might have been Thomsons.

My local post office has always had the best rates (Euros) in my town.
