Hi,

Assuming a can't get my Netgear WGR614v9 (as supplied by VM) to perform NAT, can anyone recommend a good wireless router to replace it?

The cheaper the better if possible.

Thanks,

Rich

If you are on 20Mb you can get the Netgear WRN2000 for £25 from Virgin with no Virgin firmware onboard just Netgears own.

The Netgear WRN2000 router does not come with Virgin firmware onboard unlike the Netgear WGR614 which does have Virgin Firmware on board.

regarding 3rd party firmwares for the Virgin Media supplyed crippled 2MB flash Netgear WGR614v9 version, You might find this at least informative.

perhaps you can get the DD-WRT microbuild on there IF your techy, otherwise dont even think about trying...

Rich, to the best of my knowledge there has never been a home broadband router released in the past 5 years that does not do NAT. I wouldn't worry.
