Ok, you may remember my post a few weeks back about my slow 20MB speeds. I've come to update the issue and post my findings.
If i run a speed test from speedtest.net I get less that 500KB/s down. (this is on a 20MB/s connection by the way)
If i download 1 game file from virgin's site again i get around 400kb/s down
but here's the interesting bit. If i download 2 game files then they each achieve 400KB/s down. up to the point that 4 simultaneous game files will achieve 400KB/s down each thus making up by 20MB/s connection.
I see the same results when downloading files from other sites.
I can download files from M$, apple, rapidshare etc but a single file will not go above 400KB/s down yet when i download files simultaneously I will get the full capacity of the line.
Now, i know that i'm always going to be limited by the speed of the server sending out the files but this is the same for all files that I download from anywhere.
So anyone have any ideas?
