well now that ive finally been upgraded from 2mb to 10mb the speeds are kinda wierd. here check them out.

Test 1: 1024K took 2587 ms = 395.8 KB/sec, approx 3261 Kbps, 3.18 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 2216 ms = 462.1 KB/sec, approx 3808 Kbps, 3.72 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 1550 ms = 660.6 KB/sec, approx 5443 Kbps, 5.32 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 4361 ms = 469.6 KB/sec, approx 3870 Kbps, 3.78 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 4096 Kbps, 4 Mbps

Test 1: 1024K took 1468 ms = 697.5 KB/sec, approx 5747 Kbps, 5.61 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 2368 ms = 432.4 KB/sec, approx 3563 Kbps, 3.48 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 1137 ms = 900.6 KB/sec, approx 7421 Kbps, 7.25 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 2443 ms = 838.3 KB/sec, approx 6908 Kbps, 6.75 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 5910 Kbps, 5.77 Mbps

they been hovering between 3 and 12mb.

edit: just got these in.

Test 1: 1024K took 404 ms = 2534.7 KB/sec, approx 20886 Kbps, 20.4 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 400 ms = 2560 KB/sec, approx 21094 Kbps, 20.6 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 389 ms = 2632.4 KB/sec, approx 21691 Kbps, 21.18 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 1057 ms = 1937.6 KB/sec, approx 15966 Kbps, 15.59 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 19909 Kbps, 19.44 Mbps

Here is how the speedtest works below.

If you are a Virgin Media customer then the best speedtest is from the links below.


click on these 2 gamefiles battlefield_2142_demo.exe and bfme2demo_english_final.exe and save them to your desktop, and then wait a couple of minutes then write down the transfer rates on the files that are running add them together then multiply them by 8 and you will get a truer download speed.

Remember to stop and delete the files.

i.e : 250Kbps X 8 = 2Mbps, 500Kbps X 8 = 4Mbps, 1250Kbps X 8 = 10Mbps, 2500Kbps X 8 = 20Mbps

Then add 10% to the final figure to account for any processes running on your computer.
