How long does a 50mbit install take? And what is involved? Is it just the case of them fiddling at the head end and giving me a new modem to plug in at home?

Thanks!

What connection do you currently have?

Assuming you're an existing VM customer, the install charge for 50meg usually incorporates:

1) A visit by your home by a 50meg trained engineer.
2) Install and provisioning of a 50meg DOCSIS3 modem
3) Supply and install of a Netgear 2.4GHz draft N router.
4) Supply and setup of a Netgear 2.0GHz draft N USB dongle.

I already have 10mbit BB from Virgin and don't need the router or dongle, so I guess the install is going to take about 30 seconds then. Quite how they can charge £50 for it does not make sense.

Because they like to rip people off. I really hate Virgin Media. They've even managed to completely screw up the Email addresses and passwords I had.

They are the only supplier of 50Mb and therefore have a monopoly and its a case of you want it then you pay for it.
