Slow download speed (Herts area)

Hi there

I'm experiencing slow download speeds of 530kb/sec max and upload speed of 30kb/sec max at the moment rather than the normal 2mb/sec download & 90kb/sec upload I get (on 20mbit)

I have an NTL Home 120 modem and here are my levels:-

Cable Modem : DOCSIS 1.0/1.1/2.0 Compliant
Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Receive Power Level : 0.9 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 39.4 dB
Upstream Lock : Locked
Upstream transmit Power Level : 39.0 dBmV

Am I being throttled?

I live in the Hertford/Ware/Hoddesdon region.

the levels look ok, but your modem is old - give them a call & you should 'qualify' to have your modem replaced with a new one - chances are that will solve your problem :)

Well, its been fine for a long long time and has just suddenly fallen off a cliff since about 7pm :(

Will ask them for an updated modem :)

Back to normal now, and I've just noticed that I now have 50mb available in my area, woo! gonna get that :)
