Did you actually try to download it?

Yes and i get

500 Internal Server Error
/get/00d60004948fd1d4f4bb27d991a8b3aed38766b9/4a2bc9fb/0/171d14fecd766019/53fac2/5MB.zip

Looks like they have a bit of a problem.

Nice way of forcing you onto the premium service

Thankyou sirius tbh i think ther blocking vm customers maybe anyone on bt browsing the forums can try lol or maybe vm are blocking them piracy and all that no idea.

I tried 2 proxys 1 in usa = works and 1 in uk = works

So its not broken just between vm customers and them. unless someone can confirm on bt's side aswell.

Not just VM customers that have the issue:

500 Internal Server Error
/get/7a70fbc83b920c65d4da9057d16183496c2629b6/4a2be5ba/0/171d14fecd766019/53fac2/5MB.zip

I have the same issues and I'm not on VM.

I can confirm that when using a anonymous proxy it would let me download the file, so its a problem with Virgin.

hotfile have not answerd any of my emials..

How can it be Virgin if users of other ISP's are having the same problem ????

It is possible to download the files ...eventually. I have them queued up in jdownloader and only recently they've been listed as temporarily unavailable, but after a while they are downloadable, so it isn't a permanent issue. Most likely something on their end.

I`ve just downloaded the file with no problems, albeit only at 100k thanks to Virgins poor ADSL service.

Edit: using ie8

I have the same infuriating 500 errors using Be Broadband (O2). If I persist for days then eventually, probably, I get what I want.

Hotfile sent me the following url to try which they guarantee to be valid. Their response was practically instantaneous so perhaps they've recognised the problem sufficiently to set up a bot to deal with complaints.

Fifty minutes later and after weeks of frustration, suddenly, Hotfile is working again. Long may it last.

I signed up with Hotfile for a month and have had nothing but trouble with it altogether i lost 10 days of service due to the 500 Internal Server Error. I emailed them constantly and got no response so I raised a dispute through Paypal and eventually they contacted me and told me it was due to a new anti cheating system, well I wasn't cheating!

A lot of emails went back and forward until they cancelled my service and made no offer of a refund, so I messaged them through the Paypal resolution centre and next minute they close that and gave me a full refund.

This is email I got from them:

Hello!
We exchanged many mails and I believe we answered all your mails!
Also we're trying to solve this problem, which happens only for few users (from ten of thousands)
And when we receive dispute in paypal-in most cases this mean we will issue refund, so that's the reason your account is not premium-we will give you refund,no matter you use your account and got problems just for last days.

What a load of rubbish, what help did I get ... None.

I previously used Vip-file but they stopped taking Paypal and that is the only reason I tried Hotfile, I won't be again.

I've now moved to Netload which is more expensive but so much more stable and a lot faster.

Also if anyone wants a download manager and uses Firefox I recommend this as it is excellent:
