username/login should end @adsl.virgin.net
afaik, all other settings should be as default (would really need to know what options apper in the dropdowns for further advice)

Thanks Tech_Boy, nice to have a fresh pair of eyes to spot that, changed it and left everything at default and now it works....many thanks :)

Just been googling about a problem i have with wireless but will start a new thread on that, when i came across this

Via IE goto 192.168.0.1 and login using Admin as username and Password as
password.
These can be changed later.

Goto BASIC settings

Does your Internet Connection require a login - Y
Encapsulation - PPPoA
Login - "user name"@adsl.virgin.net
Password - Virgin password
Idle Timeout - 0
Internet IP Address Get Dynamically from ISP
Internet IP Address Get Automatically from ISP
NAT Enable

Goto ADSL Settings

Multiplexing Method - VC-Based
VPI - 0
VCI - 38

Goto Wireless Settings

Wireless Network
Name (SSID) - Netgear
Region - Europe
Channel - Choose 1 to 11, your choice depends on interference etc
Mode - g & b

Wireless Access Point
Enable Wireless Access Point
Allow Broadcast of name (SSID)
Disable Wireless Isolation

Security Options

Select one as you desire and then follow instructions from Netgear help Menu
/ manual
BEFORE you setup the Wireless Lan make sure you have Internet connectivity

might be useful to someone in the future...if they use the search button :p:

A little late, but in case it's useful here's a screecap of mine. The one to remember is that for login purposes you add 'adsl' to your primary email address and use that as your login name.

Ignore the settings in the DNS fields in this screencap unless you use the OpenDNS content filtering service.
